I'm having uploading problems, help me!

Having troubles uploading your sounds? We've collected the following successful troubleshooting tips from our users themselves:

First off

Have you confirmed your email address? You can't upload sounds without confirming your email address. Check your inbox dude!

Switch up your uploaders

SoundCloud offers two different native uploaders: the regular Flash uploader and the old-skool uploader. If you're experiencing problems with our Flash uploader, make sure you have the latest version of Adobe Flash installed. For uploading larger files, we recommend using the old-skool uploader instead.

You may also want to try out the desktop uploader Scup.

Modify your anti-virus software settings

Most anti-virus software programs block uploads completely. If you use AVG, go to Settings and disable the Linkscanner, Resident shield, Surf Shield, and Webshield. For Kaspersky, Avast, and all other software, try disabling the program entirely for the duration of the upload. Finally, disable Flashblock and AdBlockers and add soundcloud.com to your list of trusted sites.

Check your internet connection

Sometimes, upload interruptions can be blamed on a weak or spotty internet connection. We recommend using a cable connection rather than WiFi, particularly for larger files, because even a short WiFi connection timeout can interrupt the upload. If your track is stuck on "Creating waveform", wait it out a bit. However, if the track is stuck creating waveform for over 2 hours, get in touch with us and we'll check it out!

Give another browser a try

If uploading works in another browser and not in the one you usually use, check the add-ons/extensions or proxy settings you have enabled on your usual one.

Still not working? Send us an email by clicking the link under "Need help from a human?" on the right hand side of the page. Be sure to include your username, a link to your track (if you have one), details about your setup (which uploader, anti-virus program, and internet connection you have, etc.), and a description of what's happening exactly. We're here to help get your sounds online!"
