Displaying Artists on Tracks

Your artist name is a leading way for fans to discover your music through search.

On tracks, the artist name is auto populated from the name of the account in which a track was uploaded.

When you have the “Artist” field within the metadata section of a track populated, this information will override the name associated with a profile. This is meant to declutter track titles.

On the web you can add or change an artist name for a previously uploaded track. Simply click the “Edit” button and navigate to the “Metadata” section. Once there, add names under the “Artist” field.

In the event you have a collaborator on your track, include your name and the collaborator’s name in the ‘Artist’ field within the ‘Metadata’ section. This information does not need to be included in the track title. Although both names will appear under the track, users will only be directed to the uploader’s profile when clicking the names.

When uploading from a label or media partner account, title your tracks as ‘Track Title’ and include any artist names in the 'Artist' field from the metadata section.
