How can I update the audio file of one of my tracks without losing stats or comments?
- If you want to update the audio file of one of your tracks without losing any stats, or comments, or changing the track’s timestamp, you can use the "Replace file" feature. This feature is available for creators with a Artist Pro subscription. To use it, go into the edit mode of the track (by clicking the pencil icon below the track’s waveform), and then click 'Replace file'. After selecting your new audio file, the transcoding and uploading process will begin. Once the file is fully uploaded, click save to apply the changes to your track.

What happens to the comments on my track if I replace the audio with a shorter version?
- If you replace the audio file with a shorter version, the comments that were originally placed on the parts of the waveform that are no longer present in the shortened version will disappear from the waveform itself. However, these comments will still appear in the comments section underneath the track on its page.

When to Use the Replace File Feature:
-
- Mastering Updates: After you’ve received a mastered version of your track, you can use the "Replace file" feature to update the audio without losing the stats and engagement the track has already accumulated.
- Fixing Mistakes: If you’ve noticed an error in the original upload (like an audio glitch or incorrect edit), you can replace the file with a corrected version without disrupting the track’s history.
-
Improving Quality: If you’ve created a higher-quality version of the track (e.g., higher bitrate), you can replace the old file to enhance listener experience without starting over.
