FAQ: SoundCloud’s free upload limit
How much can I upload to SoundCloud for free?
As a free user on SoundCloud Next plan you can upload up to 3 hours of audio. The maximum file size is 4GB. If your file exceeds these criteria, please split it into separate uploads.
What audio formats can I upload?
We recommend you upload in lossless HD formats such as WAV, FLAC, AIFF, or ALAC. We also support a large variety of lossy formats, including OGG, MP2, MP3, AAC, AMR, and WMA.
All uploads are stored in their original file format and are always available for you to download with all plans by visiting the tracks page.

What if my account has more than 3 hours of audio?
If you have more than 3 hours of audio uploaded to your account, uploading will become temporarily disabled. To continue uploading, you will need to make space for new uploads by either deleting older tracks to get under the free limit or unlocking unlimited uploads by upgrading to a SoundCloud Next Pro plan.
What happens when I downgrade from a Next Pro plan to a free plan?
Can anyone listen to my hidden tracks?
Hidden tracks are not available for other users to play or download and they will also be hidden in playlists. The page where the track lives will still be viewable, but the player will be disabled and all additional content like comments and stats will also be hidden.
