Offline listening with SoundCloud Go

With the SoundCloud Go subscriptions you can save your likes, playlists and your entire library in your mobile device for offline listening. Keep reading to find out how to save and remove music from your mobile device.

How do I save content for offline listening?

Once you have saved your Likes or Playlists for offline listening, anytime you listen to them you are not using data from your mobile phone plan. If you add more tracks to your Likes or Playlists in the future, those tracks will also be saved offline - simply pull to refresh your Library page and they will be saved.

Likes

To make all of your Likes available for offline listening, go to your Library (the heart tab on Android, or the head tab on iOS) and click the download button next to the shuffle button.

You’ll see how many tracks are left to save in the orange progress bar on the bottom of your screen on iOS or in the pull-down menu on Android.

Playlists

You have the option to pick and choose the playlists you have either created, or liked to listen to offline on your mobile device. To make individual playlists available for offline listening, open the playlist and click the download button next to the Likes button.

Automatically save your Library for offline listening

If you’d like to have your entire Library of Likes and playlists automatically saved for offline listening, go to your offline listening settings and turn on Save automatically.

Saving over Wi-Fi connections

If you’re worried about data usage as you transfer your Library to your phone for offline listening, you can make sure that tracks and playlists are only saving offline when your phone is connected to Wi-Fi. To do this, go to your Settings page, and toggle the button next to Only Save via Wi-Fi to orange.

How do I remove content from offline listening?

Likes

If you would like to remove all your Likes from being saved for offline listening, simply click the orange download arrow on your likes page to be greyed out.

Playlists

You can remove a playlist from being available for offline listening by clicking the orange save offline arrow on the playlist, turning it gray.

Your entire Library

If you would like to remove your entire Library (all of your likes and playlists) from being saved offline, go to the offline listening tab in your app's Settings page. From there, select the 'Remove content saved offline' option.

By selecting this, all currently saved tracks and playlists for offline listening will be removed from your device and any new playlists or Likes you add to your Library will not be automatically saved.

Individual tracks

At this time, there is not a way to remove an individual track from offline listening without removing it entirely from your Likes or playlist.

I'm having problems with offline listening content, what can I do?

If recently added tracks are not showing up in your saved Library, Likes, or playlists offline, first check your Offline Listening Settings page. If you have enabled saving offline only over a Wi-Fi connection and are trying to save over a 3G or LTE connection, either connect to Wi-For disable the 'Only save via Wi-Fi' setting.

The tracks and playlists you have saved for offline listening are temporary locally stored in your mobile device’s SoundCloud app. This means that if you have uninstalled the SoundCloud app, or have signed out and back in you will lose what you have chosen for offline listening in your Library or playlists. Please consider whether you are prepared to re-save your Library for offline listening before uninstalling or signing out of the app.
