Manage Your Artist Profiles on Partner Platforms

Once your music is live on streaming platforms, you can take control of your artist presence. Here is how to manage your profiles across Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and more.

First Release: Claiming Your Profiles

Your artist profiles on Spotify and Apple Music are created automatically on your release day. You cannot claim them beforehand.

  • How to Claim: Visit Spotify for Artists or Apple Music for Artists once your release is live.

  • Timing: It can take up to one week after your release date for these profiles to become searchable and available for claiming.

  • Pitching: Spotify requires an existing profile to pitch for editorial playlists. You will be able to pitch starting with your second release, once your artist profile has been established.

YouTube Official Artist Channels (OAC)

A YouTube Official Artist Channel (OAC) is a verified, unified channel for musicians, marked by a music note icon. It merges an artist’s personal channel and auto-generated "Topic" channel into one central hub, consolidating subscribers and organizing content to improve branding and search visibility. Learn more about OACs here.

  • How to Upgrade: Provide our AI Support Agent with links to your personal YouTube channel and your auto-generated "Topic" channel. This information will be escalated to a support specialist to verify eligibility and submit the request to YouTube.

  • Timeline: YouTube’s quality assurance process is extensive and currently takes 3+ months to complete.

  • Confirmation: You will be contacted by YouTube directly via email once your OAC has been successfully created.

Profile Customization

Want to change your bio, images, or lyrics? Here is who manages what:

  • Bio & Images: Most platforms (including Spotify/Apple) allow you to update these directly once you've claimed your profile. For legacy bio data, updates are often pulled from Allmusic.com.

  • Lyrics: If you've distributed to Facebook/Instagram via SC4A, your existing releases might already have lyrics available. If not, sign up as a Verified Artist on Musixmatch and use their New Release form to add lyrics for your next release.

Social Media Integration

My music on Meta is not being credited to me. What do I do?

To link your Instagram handle to your music distributed on Meta, contact our AI agent with:

  • Your Instagram handle

  • The title(s) / ISRC(s) for the track(s) you would like linked to your Instagram account

This information will be escalated to a support specialist who can process this request. Changes typically take 1 week to reflect.

My music on TikTok is not being credited to me. What do I do?

We can link "Original Sounds" to your TikTok profile ONLY if you have a verified account. To submit this request, provide our AI agent with:

  • A link to the sound on TikTok
  • The title and ISRC of the track that matches the TikTok sound

This information will be escalated to a support specialist who can process this request. Changes typically take 1 week to reflect.

Troubleshooting Profile Issues

  • Another artist's music is on my profile: If music from another artist appears on your profile, SoundCloud for Artists can only remap content we distributed.

    • The Fix: Contact the store directly (e.g., use the Spotify for Artists Contact form) for the fastest resolution.

  • Analytics: View your stats in your Artist Studio Insights under the Overview tab. Note: Apple Music requires at least 5 plays per day to display data.
