Fan Support allows SoundCloud fans to financially support their favorite artists on SoundCloud, going beyond plays, comments, reposts and likes. Fans can send a one-off payment to an artist, and the artist keeps 100% of the amount, after payment processing fees. The Top Supporters appear on a public leaderboard on the artist’s profile.

Currently, this feature is only available for users in the USA, in USD$. We plan to roll out to more countries soon.

Fan Support is part of our ongoing effort to help artists build valuable connections with their fans, and unlock new ways to earn from their art. It makes fan support tangible by allowing fans to:

• Support artists through direct monetary contributions.
• Be recognized in the Top Supporters module, which highlights their contribution.

As an artist, Fan Support opens up a new way for you to make money from your art, and to connect with and reward your most dedicated fans.

As a fan, Fan Support allows you to show appreciation for your favourite artist, and be publicly rewarded for doing so.

How it works:

For Supporters

1. Tap the “Support” button on an artist’s profile page. Note, this only appears on the profile page for an artist if they have turned on the Fan Support feature.
2. Choose how much to send by entering an amount (from $1 to $1,000), or select from the listed contribution levels (e.g., $5, $10, $50).
3. Check out using the payment method of your choice (e.g., credit card, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay) with secure transaction handling.
4. You will see a confirmation dialog - thanks for your support! The artist will receive a notification whenever a fan sends a tip, and you may land on the Top Supporters leaderboard if your amount qualifies.

For Artists

Setting up Fan Support

1. Once you have access to Fan Support, you will see a “Get Started” indicator on your profile page.
2. Follow the steps to set up an account with our third-party payment provider Adyen, and wait for confirmation after submitting your details..
3. After your account has been confirmed, your Fan Support module will appear for fans who visit your profile.
4. You can always amend your account details in Adyen by visiting “Manage Account” from the Fan Support Dashboard. You can access this via the “Dashboard” button within your Fan Support module on your profile page.

Payments

1. Whenever you receive a payment from a fan, you will receive a push notification on mobile, as well as an email confirmation
2. Your payment will also appear in your Fan Support Dashboard. You can access this via the “Dashboard” button within your Fan Support module on your profile page.
3. Your Dashboard will list a pending balance (fan support that has not yet been transferred into your Adyen account) as well as an available balance (fan support that has been transferred to your Adyen account and will be paid to you on the next payout date).
4. Payouts will be made monthly. The next payout date will be displayed at the bottom of the Balance section on your Dashboard.
5. Payouts occur once your total balance reaches the $10 minimum threshold. Once your Total balance reaches this threshold, you will be paid out at the next payout cycle.

6. Payout History, listing all previous balance payouts, is displayed on the Dashboard. Tap any activity to view more details about that payout, including fees.
