Language and Explicit Content

Setting the language tag ensures your listeners know what to expect when they press play on your podcast episodes, and allows iTunes to place your podcast in the correct country’s store.

You can choose a language through your Content Settings page:

Explicit content

If your podcast contains explicit content, it is important to check the box labeled ‘Contains explicit content’ on your Content Settings page on SoundCloud. This step ensures that your podcast is correctly labeled for platforms like Apple Podcasts. If you fail to mark your podcast as explicit when it contains such content, Apple Podcasts may reject your RSS feed during submission.

Explicit content generally includes strong language, sexual content, or any material that may not be suitable for all audiences. It’s important to accurately categorize your content to comply with platform standards, like those of Apple Podcasts.

If your podcast has explicit content, please check the box that says ‘Contains explicit content’ in your Content Settings page.
