Playlist troubleshooting
Tracks aren't appearing in your playlist
There are a few reasons why tracks may not be appearing in your playlist.
Tracks may disappear from playlists due to the track being made private or removed from SoundCloud.
The playlist is public, but the tracks are private
If your tracks are private, they cannot be seen by anyone except the file owner unless you have been given explicit permission and given a 'Secret Link'.
You're over your plan's upload limit
Track was removed due to copyright infringement
Whenever a track is blocked for copyright reasons, you should receive both an email and an on-site message to alert you. Follow the 'More info' link from your Tracks page if the track should not have been taken down, and you would like to dispute or learn more about the removal.
Please note: SoundCloud only accepts or reviews disputes made through our Disputes form, and not through email support.
Deleted or private tracks from other users
If you have a playlist with tracks from other users in it, it may be that the other user decided to delete, or make their track private. This will remove it from your playlist.
Troubleshooting mobile apps
That said, if you can see that tracks which have gone missing from your playlist are still active on SoundCloud, you could take the following steps:
- Go to your playlist, or to your collection, and swipe down the page to refresh
- If the above does not work; please delete the cache on your device
- If neither of the above work; please try deleting and re-installing the app
Why is my scheduled release date wrong?
If the release date that you have set for your scheduled release is wrong or keeps changing, this is because you are in a time zone outside of GMT. As the site is based in GMT, any information you put in will be reflected in this time zone.
You can use this time zone calculator to calculate your release date to a GMT value.
Unable to enable downloads for a playlist
Downloads can only be enabled for individual tracks, and cannot be applied to playlists. However, you can add a buy button to your playlist, so your fans can download or purchase all the tracks within the playlist at once from another site.
You can edit or add a Buy link to let your fans purchase the playlist from another site (such as iTunes, BandCamp, etc.) through your playlist’s edit page in the ‘Metadata’ tab.
You can change the wording of the Buy button so it doesn't say 'Buy'. This feature is available for Artist Pro. You'll be able to add a total of 22 characters to the "Link title". This is a great option if you wish to direct your listeners to a special link, i.e. a donation link.
Once you click 'Save', a "Buy" button will then be rendered below the waveform.
Please note: If you receive reports that some users cannot download your content, they must be signed into their SoundCloud account first before the download option is enabled.
Anonymous downloads are not permitted.
Playlist doesn't have a Share button
If your playlist doesn’t have a Share button, it can be for three reasons:
Ad-blocks or third party plugins are enabled in your browser
If you've installed any plugins (AdBlock, Flashblock, Hola VPN, HTTPS everywhere, VLC Web plugin) on your browser, please disable them, as these commonly prevent the Share button from showing. Plugins can often block SoundCloud from working properly. Additionally, please disable or allow for an exemption on any pop up blocker, firewall, or antivirus on your computer.
In the event that you are still experiencing difficulties, you may also want to try a different browser (Firefox, Chrome, etc.) to see if the issue continues. This way we can confirm whether or not this is a local issue on your browser.
A track in the playlist is stuck in transcoding
If you have uploaded multiple tracks in a playlist, it may be that one of them did not successfully upload all the way. You’ll be able to see this, as the individual track’s waveform will be grayed out and it cannot be played.
If this has happened, please delete the track from SoundCloud and upload it again. From there, you can add the track into the playlist afterwards. You can learn more about how to do this here.
A track in the playlist does not have embeds enabled
If all of the tracks in the playlist are fully transcoded and available to play on Soundcloud and you are unable to see a Share button on your playlist, you should look to make sure all tracks in the playlist have embeds enabled. You can test this by checking at each track individually, and making sure they have individual Share buttons.
