Managing and customizing your playlist

You can customize your playlist, just click on the pencil icon below the playlist’s waveform, and get started.

Adding or changing playlist artwork

We accept any images up to 2mb in size. For the best results, we recommend uploading a .jpg or .png of at least 800 pixels x 800 pixels. Square images look best for playlist artwork.

You can add or change an image to your playlist on the playlist page, by clicking "Replace image".

Please note: Changing the artwork for your playlist does not automatically change the artwork for all the tracks within the playlist.

Adding and changing a playlist title and URL

Title your playlist so your fans know what to expect when they press play and listen to your tracks within it. For example, you can make a playlist of an album you have released and give it the same title.

You can change your playlist’s title and URL through the edit page via a web browser on your computer. Currently it's not possible to rename the playlists using the app.

Clear playlist titles help your fans know exactly what they’re listening to. Avoid duplicating information that’s displayed elsewhere. Playlist titles must be between 1 and 100 characters, and support for emojis is not available at this time.

Track titles and URLs

Clear track titles help your fans know exactly what they’re listening to. Avoid duplicating information that’s displayed elsewhere. For example, there’s no need to add track numbers - our embedded player will do this for you.

Track titles must be between 1 and 100 characters, and support for emojis is not available at this time.
When uploading from a label or media partner account, title your tracks as ‘Artist Name – Track Title’.

Podcasters and journalists: include important information like celebrity guests and discussion topics. Think of your track title as the headline for your track.

Please note: Changing your playlist's title or URL will not change the tracks within the playlist.

Adding or editing your playlist's description

You can change, add to, or remove your playlist’s description through the edit page in the Basic Info tab.

Write a description for your playlist, and let your fans learn more about what they are listening to. Here you can include lyrics, or link to your collaborator’s SoundCloud profiles by adding ‘@’ at the beginning of their profile name.

We do not support the ability to use HTML in descriptions. However, you can still add links to descriptions, but they will display as full URLs.

Playlist descriptions have a maximum of 4,000 characters.

Please note: Adding or editing your playlist description does not influence or change the tracks within the playlist.
