Managing permissions when uploading a playlist

You can manage the permissions of your playlist through the Permissions tab:

Enabling downloads when uploading a playlist

You can enable or disable downloads for your listeners through the Permissions tab.

Basic users have a download limit of 100 downloads per track and Artist Pro users have unlimited downloads available for their tracks. You can upgrade to Artist Pro here.

When enabling downloads, any logged in user will have access to download your track. If you would like only select users to be able to download the tracks, make the tracks private and share them to those individual recipients.

Please note: We do not offer downloads of entire playlists. Only individual tracks can be downloaded.

If you receive reports that some users cannot download your content, they must be signed into their SoundCloud account first before the download option is enabled.

Anonymous downloads are not permitted.

Enabling Quiet Mode when uploading a playlist

If you have a Artist Pro subscription, you also have the option to enable Quiet Mode on your tracks within the playlist. Quiet Mode allows you to:

  • Choose if you'd like people to be able to comment on your tracks
  • Choose to have comments displayed
  • Choose if you'd like to have stats displayed

Restrict and enable app playback when uploading a playlist

If you would like to restrict playback of the tracks within your playlist, you can choose to disable app playback. This means that your tracks will only be playable on SoundCloud and through SoundCloud embeds, instead of websites or apps that use our API.

Enabling offline listening when uploading a playlist

With SoundCloud Go, you have now the ability to get even more plays and reach even more people by making your tracks available for offline listening. Plays that you get from offline listens will be included in the stats for each track. Learn more about plays from offline listens.

You can enable or disable offline listening of your playlist for your listeners through the Permissions tab.

Enabling embeds when uploading a playlist

Embed codes allow your tracks and playlists to be shared to blogs and websites through our embedded players. You can make the embed codes private, and only visible for yourself, or enable it for anyone to share through the Permissions tab.
