Experiencing issues with your release? This guide explains how to fix common distribution problems, such as incorrect artist profiles, missing platform deliveries, and content mismatches, and includes the information you’ll need and the typical time each fix takes.
My release is on the wrong artist profile. How do I fix it?
Usually, this is caused by a spelling or casing error in the artist name (e.g., typing in “b.O.b” instead of B.o.B) or having an artist name that matches an already existing artist.
When selecting an artist name for your first release, you must choose a unique artist name to avoid issues in the future. If you do need to remap your release to the correct artist profiles, please reach out to our support bot with the following information:
- The release title
- UPC
- Incorrect artist name
- A link to the correct artist profile (if none exists, let us know to create one)
Once you provide this information to our AI agent, it will escalate your case to a support specialist who will assist with these changes. Changes often take 3–5 days to show across all platforms.
Why isn’t my release live on all platforms?
This is a common distribution issue and can happen for a few reasons:
- Your release was approved too close to the scheduled release date
- It’s your first time delivering music to streaming platforms
- A platform is experiencing temporary delivery delays
On SoundCloud, we make it easy to request redelivery to platforms such as Apple Music, Spotify, and YouTube so your music reaches all intended platforms as quickly as possible, and any delivery issues are resolved efficiently. Redelivery is the process of resending your approved, live release to selected streaming platforms where it hasn’t appeared yet.
If your release was not delivered to all expected platforms on the scheduled release date, please reach out to our AI agent and provide:
Your release UPC
The affected platform name
The AI agent will collect your information and escalate your request to a support specialist who will then review and process the redelivery. Once a specialist confirms your release has been redelivered, please allow 3–5 days for it to appear on the affected platforms.
If your track still doesn’t appear on platforms like TikTok or Meta after redelivery, there may be platform-specific rights restrictions. Review Meta's music rights guidelines and TikTok's terms of use, or reach out to their support for further clarification.
A release that isn’t mine appears on my Spotify profile.
If you see someone else’s release on your Spotify profile:
Log in to Spotify for Artists. Note: You must have a verified Spotify for Artists profile to successfully make this request. If you are not yet verified, please see more information here.
Choose “Another artist’s release is on my profile.”
Confirm your email address and artist name
Select the incorrect release
Spotify notes it may take up to 15 days to process this request.
If you are experiencing this issue on platforms other than Spotify, we kindly ask that you contact the customer support team of those specific platforms directly. Unfortunately, we are unable to manage or modify tracks on platforms where we have not personally delivered the content.
Somebody uploaded my music without my permission! How do I get it taken down?
This can occur when another individual uses other distributors to distribute content to stores. Your best bet is to reach out to the platform or store hosting the content and request a DMCA takedown (the platform is obligated to remove the content as the issue is investigated). Most platforms have forms for this (e.g., Spotify's Contact Form).
