What is a Form 1099?
A Form 1099 is a year-end U.S. tax document used to report income received during a calendar year. We send this form to both the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and the artist.
The 1099 form serves to notify you of the specific income amount you must report on your tax return. The IRS receives the same information to ensure accurate reporting.
When will I receive my tax forms?
Deadlines vary depending on your location and the type of form being issued:
Form 1099 (U.S. Artists): These should appear in your dashboard by March 1st of the year following the payment year.
Form 1042-S (Non-U.S. Artists): These are generally issued by March 15th of the year following the payment year.
Where can I find my 1099 or 1042-S?
You can access and download your tax documents directly through your artist dashboard:
Log in to the SC4A Artist Dashboard.
Navigate to the Payments section.
Select the Earnings tab.
Access your Earnings Tab here.
Non-U.S. Tax Forms (Form 1042-S)
Artists located outside of the United States will receive a Form 1042-S instead of a 1099.
What it is: A U.S. tax document used to report tax withheld on U.S.-sourced income paid to foreign persons.
What it reports: It details the total tax withheld or reportable income paid to you throughout the calendar year.
Deadline: As noted above, the delivery deadline for this form is March 15th.
