Playlist Issues & Troubleshooting
Tracks aren't appearing in your playlist
There are a few reasons why tracks may not be appearing in your playlist.
-
The playlist is public, but the tracks are private
- If your tracks are private, they cannot be seen by anyone except the file owner unless you have been given explicit permission and given a 'Secret Link'.
-
You're over your plan's upload limit
- Basic and Pro plans have upload limits. If you downgrade to a plan with a lower limit, your oldest tracks will be hidden to fit the new limit. You can still access these hidden tracks on your Tracks page.
-
Track was removed due to copyright infringement
- If a track is blocked due to copyright, you'll get an email and an on-site message. To dispute or learn more about the removal, click 'More info' on your Tracks page. Note: SoundCloud only reviews disputes submitted through the Disputes form, not via email support.
-
Deleted or private tracks from other users
- If you have a playlist with tracks from other users in it, it may be that the other user decided to delete or make their track private. This will remove it from your playlist.

Troubleshooting mobile apps
- If this issue does not meet any of the above reasons, it is possible this is a mobile app issue. In this case, you can take the following steps:
- Go to your playlist, or to your collection, and swipe down the page to refresh
- If the above does not work, please delete the cache on your device
- If neither of the above works, please try deleting and reinstalling the app

Unable to enable downloads for a playlist
Downloads are only available for individual tracks, not playlists. However, you can add a buy button to your playlist, allowing fans to purchase or download all tracks from another site.
To do this, add or edit a Buy link in the playlist’s ‘Metadata’ tab, linking to sites like iTunes or BandCamp.
You can customize the Buy button text (up to 22 characters) with Artist Pro, which is useful for special links like donations. After saving, the button appears below the waveform.
Note: Fans must be signed into their SoundCloud account to download your content. Anonymous downloads are not allowed.
Playlist doesn't have a Share button
If your playlist doesn’t have a Share button, it can be for three reasons:
-
Ad-blocks or third-party plugins are enabled in your browser
- If you have plugins like AdBlock, Flashblock, Hola VPN, HTTPS Everywhere, or VLC Web plugin installed, please disable them, as they may prevent the Share button from appearing or block SoundCloud from working correctly. Also, disable or add exceptions for any pop-up blockers, firewalls, or antivirus software. If the issue persists, try using a different browser (such as Firefox or Chrome) to see if the problem continues. This will help determine if the issue is specific to your browser.
-
A track in the playlist is stuck in transcoding
- If one of your playlist tracks didn't upload fully, its waveform will appear grayed out, and it won't play.
To fix this, delete the track from SoundCloud and re-upload it. You can then add it back to your playlist. Learn more here.

-
A track in the playlist does not have embeds enabled
- If all tracks in your playlist are fully transcoded and available on SoundCloud but you don't see a Share button for the playlist, check that embeds are enabled for each track. You can verify this by ensuring each track has its own Share button.
