I have a Free plan. How can I upgrade to Artist Pro?

Upgrade your account by navigating to our Artist Plans and purchasing the Artist Pro subscription.

I just purchased an Artist Pro subscription, but it's not showing on my account. What can I do?

If you have confirmed that you purchased your Artist Pro subscription and it doesn't show immediately on your account, please allow a few minutes for it to show up - sometimes it can take a bit of time to update the subscription status.

After a short while, please verify the status on your Subscription page.

Apple subscribers can check their subscription status via their Apple subscription settings.

Apple Store:

  1. Go to phone Settings.
  2. Click iTunes & App Store.
  3. Click Apple ID at the top of the screen.
  4. Click View Apple ID.
  5. Click Subscriptions.
  6. Click on the SoundCloud app.

I have an Artist Pro subscription. When will I be charged?

Artist subscriptions offer two billing options:

  • Monthly – pay each month, cancel anytime.
  • Yearly – pay once for the year, at a lower overall cost.

The yearly plan is cheaper, even though it's shown as a "per month" price on the pricing page. This per-month rate is based on the total yearly payment, and is noted as "yearly" at checkout.

Our monthly and yearly Artist Pro plans both automatically renew.

However, you can view your current plan and opt out of any automatic renewals by visiting your Subscriptions page and clicking on the "Edit" icon.

Why does the price look lower than what I'm paying?

The lower price you're seeing is the monthly equivalent of the yearly plan. If you're paying monthly, you're on the flexible plan β€” which is slightly more expensive over the course of a year.

How can I switch from monthly to yearly?

To switch and save:

  1. Cancel your current monthly plan from the Subscriptions tab (on desktop).
  2. After it expires, go back and re-subscribe using the yearly option.

Can I pause my Artist Pro subscription?

It is not possible to pause a subscription. However, you can opt out of automatic renewals by going to your account Subscriptions page and clicking on the Edit icon:

Follow the prompt 'Don't want to renew your plan?" to confirm that you would like to stop your recurring payment.

Please note: when canceling your subscription, previous pricing will not be transferred over to your new purchase.

Can I change my Artist Pro payment date?

There isn't a way to change the date your monthly payment is taken at the moment. If it's more convenient to have payment taken on another date, please opt out of automatic renewals in your account's Subscriptions page or via Apple by clicking on the Edit icon:

Your subscription will keep running for the remainder of the 30 days, and then you will be downgraded to the Basic plan. You can then choose to subscribe to an Artist Pro account again through our Creator page.

What happens when I downgrade from an Artist Pro subscription to a Basic plan?

When you downgrade from an Artist Pro to an Artist or Basic plan, your oldest uploads over the subscription limit (180 minutes for Artist and 120 minutes for Basic) will be hidden from listeners.

This includes any distributed tracks through your RSS feed or via SoundCloud for Artists.

Don't worry, though; nothing is deleted from your account. You will still be able to view these hidden tracks on your Tracks page.

All your hidden tracks, along with their stats and comments, will be saved so that if you choose to go back to Pro, everything will be restored just as it was before.

What happens to my monetized tracks & distributed releases when I cancel my Artist or Artist Pro subscription?

If you distributed or monetized any of your content via SoundCloud for Artists, this content will be taken down from third-party distribution partners and de-monetized 30 days after your subscription ends.

Artists have 30 days to renew if they’d like to keep their content distributed or monetized on SoundCloud. After which, you will need to contact support to have your releases redistributed and tracks monetized again.

To cancel your subscription, please visit this article.

Please reach out to support via our support bot, Otto, if that is the case.
